Bucket seats

Post by bridgey »

Does anybody in NZ know if universal brackets are available for after market bucket seats?

Nope, ul need custom ones. The only company i know that makes brackets for a starion are Sparco in the states, and they are around $150NZD each and only fit sparco seats.
Not too hard to fabricate up though if you can weld.

perhaps i'm derailing this thread, but in the hopes that it is very much related, I wanted to ask, how much of a difference do aftermarket buckets make compared to the standard bucket seats? (Let's say you're going with reclineable ones to keep it registered as a 4/5 seater)

im more doing it because the current drivers seat has no padding left, the knee rest is broken, half the support cables are broken...basically im doing it for the racing look and this way i can get the factory one reupholstered at my own lesiure and have them there in case i ever sell it

bridgey are they side or bottom mounted?

Thrash - depends on the design of the bucket, but on my fixed back makes a massive difference, you dont need to worry about bracing yourself when you go into a corner compared to the stock seat.

Australian 81-86 Sigma's have the exact same floor mounts as a Starion.
Grab a set of stuffed Sigma seats, remove the runners & fit them to your new seats.
