Yep they are. They do have an indentation in the struts spring mount for the bottom coil of the spring which it is perfectly slotted in to.

Well finally got my welder up and running with gas today so decided to start attacking the rust in the rear quarters.
By the end of the day it really doesnt look like ive made alot of progress but im getting used to the new welder now, and getting to grips with the settings.
Fabrication is definitely NOT as easy as it looks, i had 3 attempts at fabricating the new piece before i was happy with it.
Once i got it welded in, it was ok, but wasn't overly happy with the welds so after grinding them and redoing them have decided to start from scratch again 2moro as think i ground the steel back a bit much.
Frustrating = YES
But good learning experience none the less, as this is the first time ive done anything like this :)
Heres where its at now:

Don't mind the holes :) Bit too much current on the welder.

Oh and this arrived this morning too :)

Are the skyline brakes a difficult mod to do?

Shouldn't be too difficult. Il be hitting them once i get the rust cut out and the rearend re-assembled.
Will just be a matter of mocking up the brackets, then getting them cut out of 10mm steel plate by an engineer, all going well haha :)

Haha not as flash as urs, but seeing a couple the guy who welded it up for me had sitting in his workshop mite end up with a nice polished alloy one anyway but we'll see :) Beta get the car running 1st!!!
Rust repairs went on backburner today, spent the arvo cleaning the garage instead as it was a pigsty!!!

Given you have 5 stud brakes already, the hard work has been done already, there is a braket designed by starion4me that will allow you to use the skyline calipers.
Starions are a disease, the only cure is poverty.

Well cut a mock up bracket out of 3mm alloy today for the brakes and looks like it should be all gd. Other than me not quite getting one of the holes centred properly.
Also restarted the rust repair and have definitely done a much beta job 2nd time round. Pics to come 2mo as mrs took camera to work :(
