Checking out Yahoo auctions in Japan over a period of time, I've noticed all the auto 1986/87GSR's are not GSR-V's.
They tend to have 4 stud wheels and the red rocker covers same as the JD, together with clutch fans.

So, I don't think auto 86/87 and 88 model flatbody GSR's are a GSR-V technically! GSR-II' or III's I believe they are designated.

Understood, but also realize nothing similiar to the GSR-V ever made it into the states and can't even be imported at the present time.

That's correct. GSR-V's are all manual.
Manual + Turbo Dash engine + Sports interior + Spoiler and rear wing + 5 stud unique wheels, are the major points. ( rear wing had a delete option )

The auto cars had a different designation. I have seen one that had GSR-V stickers put on it though, but not from the factory.

By Sports Interior , I mean the 'leather' interior with dial guages and bolstered seats. In Japan there were sometimes as many as 6 Starion variations on the go at one time and there was a fair variety of interior types , and as we all know, Mitsubishi also tended to sometimes put in what was on hand on the day as well. But the GSR's seem to have been fairly consistant.
There are a few guys on this forum with these cars so if you do a search you should be able to see the wheels.

Yeah they're the wheels that my GSR-V should have come with, only the bloke I bought it from kept them for his van.
