you said the airdam was damaged in transit, i sent you a pm back telling you what you had to do to get a claim from the shipping company that damaged it, whats your problem? afaik you never did anything about it? and do you expect fibreglass parts to be the same quality as an injection molded plastic part? the panel shop thats fitted a few locally didnt have a problem with the ones they've done for me, they mentioned they fit better than most aussie made bodykits.. quite often they have to cut and shut side skirts to be the right length
and i think you need to work on your communication and people skills, if you werent meaning to insult everyone on this forum with your post earlier in this thread, you sure did a good job of it. and your post history from when you first started out here certainly doesnt help people's opinion. you need to look at what you write from other people's perspective.

Just reviving my hijacked thread. I've noticed the turbo manifold that came with the engine wants to mount the thing upside down. What manifolds are people using on their VR4 conversions?
problem is all the DOHC turbo engines are east/west FWD layout so the turbos are low mount, and on the VR-4/Evo1-3 the turbo inlet will be facing the firewall. Being low mounted it will probably foul the engine mount and get in the way of the steering box and power steering lines.
I have however seen a guy in the UK and a guy in the US use an evo4+ twin scroll manifold with accompanying twin scroll turbo on a vr-4/evo1-3 engine in an EX Lancer and Triumph TR-7 of all things - it requires a spacer of about 15mm between the head and the manifold but it seems the turbo just clears the engine mount and with a new dump pipe fabricated up it will clear the steering box too, as well as the alternator requires re-location to the otherside of the engine.
This way opens the option of using off the shelf aftermarket manifolds designed for evo4+ on our twin cam engines - although I'm not 100% keen on the low mount turbo idea, and I want to keep air con so re-locating the alternator to that side of the engine is not an option for me.

useless peice of info cos its from the earlier turbo (evo1-3)
but i mocked up my engine plus the stock vr4/evo manifold and turbo in my lancer and it cleared everything, no spacer required, new dumppipe needed obviously
only reason it needs a spacer when using an evo4+ manifold on a pre evo4 engine is that the exhaust is on the other side, and on an evo4+ engine the balance shaft lump in the block isn't there while on the evo3 and below it is.
I wonder if you could use a standard manifold in a Starion also - it would probably clear the mounts but I'ld still have concerns with the power steering lines.
Soljah how did you mount your turbo? if you mounted it the way it would normally be in a VR-4/evo1-3, the turbo inlet would be on the firewall side - did you just spin the turbo around on the mounting flange? that way the turbo would stick out a bit further from the block.

Dirtygalant: Do you have a link to the lancer thread? I am looking to do the same on my starion. It looks as if the spacer needs to be 30mm thick but I cannot find anywhere which will cut mild steel that thick. Also concerned about the engine mount and p/s box, not sure if they will suffer from the heat. Maybe a turbo beanie could help..
