Type 2 injection manifold from JB/JD gasket set

Post by Noelw »

Probably a real stupid question... but is it possible to buy a gasket set for the type 2 manifold (for a JD)?

Thanks for the quick reply; I should buy that kit, much appreciated. I was mainly after the gasket between the engine and the manifold and after following the thread you supplied found other kits there. Is there a difference between the different manifolds or are they pretty well standard across the different models of Starion?

I just did my wifes car injection set...... withthe help of JPC and Nachoman... thanks guys.

I bought the genuine set from Mitsubishi -

Part # MD608932 and it cost $85 !!!!

it also did not include the gasket which was the critical component.
I bought some gasket paper from an auto store and cut some out....... I now have a couple of spares and still some gasket paper left.

I need to run this set through the JD next....... Redzone - how much are the US sets landed?? I assume only $5 or so postage?? and the exchange rate is OK at the moment.....
1985 JB - owned from new.
1986 JD - used to own one.......

op - u need the intake manifold gasket? the one between the intake manifold and the head? why dont you go to your local car parts store and get one? no need for a throttle body kit.

and if u just want the one between the throttle body and intake manifold, then just buy some loctite 515 in a small tube, it is an anaerobic sealant that is resistant to petrol and coolant etc. just scrape the original off and use that instead of a gasket.

noddy the set is about $50au landed at the moment. getting one soon for mine probably, my widey's got a few stains around that area..
