it's a shame we didn't get em here, but it kinda makes sense too.. black fades/cracks/heats up quicker in harsh sunlight

any idea why there weren't more?RiceThief wrote:Thrash i there are a couple of starions with a black interior that are australia delivered is just they are so rare.
on a side note, you could just get parts of another colour and paint them? I did my centre console and roof lining in black and it worked out quite nice.. I'll take some pictures when i get my car back

Sure the later Sapporo's/Galants had the same dashboard. I take it the widebody dash is the same as the narrowbody?
If you need one, I can help find one over here, I could get a black'n right away. If you want one badly, shipping ain't that bad.

there were only 3 colour interior options for the JA, grey, tan, and maroon. JA was BY FAR the biggest seller at around 1300 cars. JB (only 250ish cars) had tan or maroon interior. JD (50ish cars) had maroon or black interior, no tan afaik.
only the JD had the black interior option in australia.
station i'm sure the UK got other dash colours than just black, i think some of the early UK cars in the starion/conquest performance portfolio book have grey etc
anyone chasing a jap widey needs to look at sites like yahoo japan.

Just thinking, if you were converting to rack'n'pinion you could use one from a car from the states and simply turn it over. As it's custom, who'd know the difference. The bolt for the column connector might as a worst case scenario be 180 degrees when the wheels are straight, but so what? It moves all over the place anyway...
