i am her boyfriend.

she thinks that her mazda used 9l/100 km. calculated on "about" 30l of gas for "about" 400km. (but on inspection turns out it was more like 570km)

mazda turbos are the new prius.
also she was thinking of getting an old corolla and putting in a 13b turbo for a daily driver car.

i want her to get the soarer, as i am the poor runt who has to be rescuing her all the time, and having owned a starion, i know they are not even in the same league reliability wise.

also, i managed to source a w58 with bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, pedals, etc for under 1500.

also i have done 3 of these conversions before, a bit of wiring is nothing.

i would NOT have driven a rotary as a daily driver !

Anyway ive always wanted a starion , my heart would not race with excitment if i bought the soarer. Thats it in a nutshell .

Im $500 short for the starion anyway so may just end up fixing mazda dam it

We shall see . . i could be posting pics of my new starion by this time next week!!

Tam, sounds like there's a bit of relational tension going on here regarding what kind of car you will get. Tell him if he's not careful you will demote him from partner to boyfriend !!

You really don't like that word 'partner' dont you?

Lol I hate it too but hate plain old 'boyfriend' as well ! It sounds like your in the third grade and when you've been with someone for 3 years just doesnt sound right!!!

Dont mind me Tam Im just old and set in my ways. Before being gay became "cool" they used the word partner to disquise the fact their boyfriend/girlfriend is the same sex. I realise it's now been picked up by the straight people but to my old ears it just sounds plain GAY :beer

it does sound gay!! Your so right..dont worry dont get offended easily!

I'd much rather be able to say fiance or husband ! I think i almost love him as much as the Starion he owned when we first met!! hehe ALMOST [ well that was after i drove it and not before..looked hideous ]

Can you warn me for using the word 'love' and well move on ...

had an '88 GZ20 Soarer about a year back, with the 2L TT six. did a manual conversion, used a w58, parts all up cost around $800. none of the parts were new, though. all the parts apart from the 'box came from a smashed RA60 that i picked up for 50 bucks, second hand dellow bellhousing cost $250, MA70 W58, 75,000km, with an Exedy HD clutch cost $400, Manual 1G flywheel was $100. probably not got much to do with the topic at hand, but i figured if anyone was interested it could help.
In all honesty, I wouldn't buy the soarer. at least not a JZZ30. maybe another Z20.........................
Damn, now you've got me thinking! :D
Cheers :)
