For those of you who have installed rear speakers onto your parcel shelves, I was wondering.. do you get much vibtrations in the hatch?

where are you gonna plant the speakers then?
i was thinking of planting them in the leather side bits hugging the rear seats... but when i think about it, i don't want to ruin them.. they look too nice..

i don't really want a sub.. 6.5 splits enough? or you'd really need the sub with them?

may i ask why not??.. 2 6x9's will take up just as much space albeit in a different place and you still need an amp to get any real sound out of speakers. noone gets 200kw out of the stock turbo ;) if you get my driftthrash wrote:i don't really want a sub.. 6.5 splits enough? or you'd really need the sub with them?
not really a fan of the doof doof..
a decent head unit can power 6x9s to provide enough sound for my liking.. i don't need an ubercool and crisp sound system
in fact, my car has been without a sound system since i bought it over a year and a half ago.. it would be nice to be able to play some music or listen to the radio.. but i'm equally as happy most of the time just listening to my engine..

it's not really about where they'll fit.. more about causing the glass to vibrate too much..
but i think i've figured out where i want to put my speakers. Will put up pics when i make up the housings.. and the will face forward :D only thing i'm worried about is how much of my rear/blind spot vision they'll block out....

We brought some 6x9 boxes & put them in the boot behind the seats. Works very well without having to hack up my rear parcel tray, and they can't be seen from the outside. Although you can't see through the tint anyway!
Also got a set of decent 6.5" splits from my old car lying around the house, but I've never put them in... I just can't bring myself to cut the JD's door trims.

I've got the same problem, a decent sent of splits I bought for the car but haven't got the heart to cut the door panels! I'm thinking about changing to 5 1/4 splits and trying to get a set of Starion/Conquest bottom door panel trims from the US with the built in factory speaker grills.hoongirl wrote:Also got a set of decent 6.5" splits from my old car lying around the house, but I've never put them in...
