he said same turbo so thats not the issue
what turbo is it by the way?

same size injectors as before?

also did the tuner say anything?
why did he stop the boost there?
maybe youve maxed out your fuel setup?

just fyi my unopened vr4 motor (100+ks)
put out 240atw on 10lb with a big16g and 300atw on 16lb
different dyno obviously so its only a rough guide but if ur tubo is anything other than a vr4 one then something in ur setup is holding it back

manifold is locked open
The inj are yellow so arnt they evo 1s
The turbo is a small 16g
The tuner said thats all it would make but hey was really busy and didnt want 2 work on it anymore
I stoped the boost there cause i didnt want 2 run as much as b4
The tuner said the fuel pump was really good but it is only a vl pump

i would say the 5 psi would account for roughly 50 hp

so u may get up around 210-220hp
I am pretty sure the Evo3 cams are different. I have two sets of NA VR4 cams and 1 set of Evo3 cams and they are different.

That would make them 4g63 gsr cams rather than vr4 ones, i've been told they have more duration on the inlet with the gsr cams.

when you say manifold is locked open do you mean it has no line going to the port that controls the runners?i.e it is just at atmo pressure
thats the way mine is also setup and the way to lock them open

yellow injectors should be the evo 510cc ones which are plenty
vl pump should be ok

yes thats how it is done! i would of thort it would of made atlest 200bhp

with that work it should definatly have more then 164hp.

My ja with mpi, 3 inch, tc06, no cooler and 9 psi made 145hp on 2 occasions.
-JA Starion with JD bits , Forged engine, Heaps of mods (parked up)
-BFII XR6 Turbo Ute , Here comes 400hp for 2k :p
-77 Mazda 323 drag car. 13bt rotary project.

perhaps a condition check of the motor

leak down and compression to see how tired it might be?

compression test was
no 1 135psi
no 2 134psi
no 3 132psi
no 4 131psi


but i dont know what these motors are ment to be so????

perhaps do a comp test on the other one that made the extra 90 hp and compare?

i believe the "healthy" level for an engine to be at is 140 or above. The more knowledgeable peeps in the house can shed more light on this..

So... 130ish = a worn engine..

compression test looks ok to me the are all with 4 psi of each other. the results of the evo engine will be higher given the higher cr from the factory. another thing you can do is put abit of engine oil in the cyl then do a comp test to see if there is any difference between the results without the oil.
