Group Buy - EOI - Twin Cam Thermostat outlet adaptor
Group Buy - EOI - Twin Cam Thermostat outlet adaptor
As those of us who are/have faced the coolant issue with the TC conversion, I am being put in touch through a 'mate of a mate' with a repetition engineering guy here in Sydney who is able to do this sort of thing as a bulk order.
Can I get some ideas of numbers to participate in a group buy of a machined thermostat housing adaptor for the twin cam conversion.
I will cover the up front costs etc so not looking for money at this stage just an idea of how many we would be talking about eg 10, 20, 5 whatever.
They would be cnc machined and/or milled with a flange to come from the rear of the head, under the CAS for the pipework to a front located T/S housing

Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
how much interest you get will depend on what the price is ;)
post up a price based on what the guy thinks it will cost, e.g. $x for 1, $y for 5, $z for 10, etc.. and then you will get people who are ready to put money down :D

In my opinion it's not the money that matters, more the r&d involved to make a quality bolt on piece, that is "part of the missing puzzle" in converting a twincam.
Yes jayracing make a front outlet, but anyone who has bought one will tell you it needs to be extended (ie, not a bolt on).
I much prefer the idea of a rear exit housing as per the factory.
Count me in :D
P.S. Redzone, how is the powersteering brackets going? :P

Thrash,
I aint even spoken to the guy yet, I just want a bit of an idea (as i said) of who 'may' be interested. I'm not asking for commitment but it would be nice to talk to a REPITION ENGINEER about possible quantities rather than say 'make me 1.'
Like www18u said, this part of the conversion is what causes people the most headaches and I am just trying to come up with a more or less off the shelf solution rather than everyone trying to invent their own wheel to overcome it. I have seen so many variations on the same theme a common product would be to everyone's advantage.

Thanks Redzone,
I will take that along so he's got an idea of what the finished product should resemble. Then i can get some drawings made up.
Woody, as I am close with my TC, I would be looking to have mine in the same timeframe.
at this stage I might get 10 or so as a starting point and I can always have these in stock for people as/if they want to move to TC conversion.
I would think the US guys would be interested as well if they know of the availability.
Thanks guys, I just wanted a bit of a heads up
