I have been researching this intake issue for the track car and recently read a well managed comparison from the US of all the aftermarket intakes available vs the stock Mitsi intake and guess what - the stock intake provided better HP all the way up to 7500 rpm when the aftermarket stuff got slightly ahead. So unless you plan on driving above 7500 rpm all the time, there is no performance advantage in going with one of the bling items (unless you specifically want the bling factor) - in fact you will be slower.
So like Dave said, the stock item is more than enough for what most of us need. A decent size T/B and good intercooler and decent diameter piping is a better power deliverer.

I totally agree with what you are saying Greg. I did similar research to yourself, and that was why i ended up with the manifold that i sold to yourself. The Hypertune was the deal of the century ($450 new, retails for $1500) so that was my reasoning (and i like a bit of bling).
Maybe we can put them on the Gtpumps flowbench for a bit of fun. :D

Yeah I have read the same results but they were just flow tests. The Stock one would get better flow sooner, but the aftermarket ones were better in midrange to high end range. But the stock wasn't far behind.

The hypertune intake manifolds are the best on the market .
They are a proven bolt on horse pwr part .
