Tachometer Wiring

Post by Project2501 »

Hi guys

I have a slight problem in that my tachometer wasnt hooked up with the Microtech. Now i have the output wire to the tach from the MT but i dont know which wire i am to splice it in with. Does anyone know the colour and/or have any pics of their tacho wire? Im doing this because i want a stock dash and hate those "monster tachos with change-gears-diked-lights".

cheers

tom.

Look for W/B (white/black?) wire on the plug going in to the instrument panel.
It goes from the negative of the coil. You could put a multimeter on the coil wire and buzz out the wire on the connector in the dash. Unhook it from the coil first though. bzzzttt

Or go here and get the electrical diagram with the tacho feed hilighted http://www.pbn.com.au/staz/elec.gif It's 1.2M, may take a while to get.

On my staz its a white wire going from the coil (-) to the plug at the back of the dash. From that plug its a blue wire to the actual tacho.
