I also hooked up a battery (boot mounted) to it for the first time in 5-6 years and the only thing that worked was the "boot open" dash light lol. But most of the problems came from the fuse box. It must have got wet at some stage and was heavily corroded, some contact cleaner and a brush sorted it though :)
Ive even hooked up the later door mounted window switches :beer

The motor, gearbox and diff should be back next week.... :D

Yeah mate, just got the rest of the chroming to do, and sort out the computer.
And the surge tank...
Speaking of which what are the setups people are using? Id like to mount something underneath...

I am very jealous of your sway bars! Where did you get them from? What size diameter is your rear bar? Mine is only a piddly 16mm one, while the front is 21mm.

I can definitely see the difference between my rear suspension and the Starion - the front crossmember is definitely different around the torque tube mount, as well as the chassis mounts on the ends - the rear camber/toe adjustment bolt is setup differently as well - other than that everything else looks the same.

Am tempted to get that bush kit though!

The rear sway bar is 20mm. And Im sure the factory one is around 18mm. Ive got the old one if you want to try and put that in your car.

I got the sway bars years ago. They are signature series bars from Oz. I had them in my old EX Euro spec. They made a massive difference to the way the car handled!!!

Would be interesting to see if that bush kit fitted. Most if not all should Id guess....

yeah looks like all the bushes look the same - I'm guessing that bush kit was for all bushes (front and rear). I've already done the front bushes, wonder if they do just the rear bushes. Yeah mine's definitely 16mm, am pretty keen to get a bigger one in there. Whiteline have stopped making them and there are none brought into the country anymore apparently. Would be keen on your 18mm depending on price. Cheers.

The kit was rear only, but did come with the front control bushes. And some others that I couldnt find homes for. Ive got a pic of the left overs next page back.
You can have that rear bar for the price of shipping if you like. But I should measure it just to make sure it is 18mm first. :) Ill do that tonight.
You could always get some widebody sway bars, as Im sure that are thinker. But getting them from the states would cost lots...

The four on the right are tie rod bushes No, they're castor rod bushes, no clue about the left four tho.
Doing a bloody ripper job with that car, going to be a fantastic final product!

Got the gearbox back this week :D
Had to get the reconditioner to machine the input shaft to match the starion one as it was to long and hit on the crank. But now it should just bolt straight up... fingers crossed.

Here it is next to a factory starion box just to give you an idea of how everything lines up. Even the cross member mounts are almost in the exact same spot.

Next week the engine and diff should be back :D

Haha im so copying half of what your doing, ive just managed to find a b2600 bellhousing and am looking for a rx7 box at the moment. Was it expensive to get the input shaft sorted?
Oh and where did u get the swaybar D bushes, the only ones ive found are way too big for the starion mounts.

Did you find a second hand belhousing?? If so, well done. I looked for ages and couldnt find one. Ended up getting one new from Mazda.

It was $100 to get the input shaft done while the box was apart. But I have heard that some people can do it in place. The RX7 one shouldnt need machining, but the spline is in a different place to the starion. It will still work but the clutch plate spline doesnt have as much to grip against.
Another good thing about the ute box is the shifter is in the right place. Even with the RX7 shifter moved all the way forward I think it would be to far back. Unless your moving the motor forward like some of the guys in the states do.

Bushes are from Autolign. They measured my factory ones and got some mulit fit ones to suit. They were a good fit.

The 4 on the right are the front control arm bushes by the look of it. They are the right size...

The sway bar links are much smaller than those...

yeah the four on the right are definitely for the front castor rod/strut bar arms, who knows what the other four are for though, two of them almost look like the front control arm bushes but only one half.
