Hey,
Ive just picked up a gear knob and boot from repco and am going back to get a handbrake and boot tommorrow. Just wanted to know if there is any easy way to get the boot and knob off as the knob seems really really stiff coming off. I spose it is 22 years old though :P. Any tips?
TIA
Jeff

Unless i'm mistaken, the boot comes off from the base of the console so you'll have to pull that out to remove the boot.

Guess you're mistaken.
You can get the boot off without removing the console.
If it's the standard knob it unscrews, if it's aftermarket look for grub screws or somebody has glued it on.

Well there you go.. shows you how much attention I pay to things considering within the last month I have pulled the console out of my car about 5 times :) I must be thinking of the Sigma.

anyone care to specify HOW you get the shifter boot out without removing the console? do you push down on the base up un-clip it, then manouver it out?

If it is the concertina style one...mine just slid off up the shaft, no clips involved.
