I'am bit confused about that what was said before..

I just bought SMALL diff with 25 spline

both axles rotate with the same direction, but I can see there is a single pin iside diff...

there is also some pressed number on the top of the diff, it is quite rusty but seems to look like KD3 and under this i can see somethink like 83 6

is open diff should always rotate axles in oposite directions?

Even a worn LSD will turn in the opposite direction.

the only sure way is to take the cover off and take a look.
If you can see the spider gears it's open
if it's closed then it's a LSD

so that means if an lsd is worn it would act like an open diff? so if you do a burnout and spin only one wheel, it doesn't necessarily mean you dont have an lsd?

or are you giving me false hope? :P

I was trying again, both spline housing are moving the same way, as only Iam trying to rotate prop shaft.

If only Iam trying to rotate one axle housing then the other one moving into oposite direction.

And that makes it an open diff.

correct me please if iam wrong:

if my starion have got 6 bolt flanges axle that is mean there can be only 28 spline inside diff? and there must be 3.55 "big crownwheel" inside diff?

is there is any opinion which diff is better? small or large?

should i keep lookin whole lsd diff or maybe i should only get lsd mechanism to plug in into my large JD?

in europe there is not many of them :/ I've ask few friends in poland about their starions, and every one got opened diff.....

did any one tried before to weld the diff? ( i can do it with spare diff)

G/Day Tommy welding diff not a good idea as it is hard on axles and requires a different driving style

best to use the big diff, get an LSD hemisphere from the USA, and rebuild your diff with that...

I got my big lsd diff from the UK, shipping was actually more then I paid for the diff.
But it was possible to have it shipped as a whole for e reasonable price, if you need to have it shipped from the US you should only get the LSD hemisphere because shipping a whole diff will be seriously expensive.

And all 6 bolt axle diffs have the same spline count and the insides are interchangable. The torque tubes are also the same.
