motor alternate costs?

hey everyone,

have been away from the forums for some time and ive decided to go out and buy a half decent 2ltr while i get my stuff together for the 2.4
went down the wreckers yesterday to find myself a l300 block and they have a complete engine minus manifolds for $660, with a 3 month guarantee.

im not worried by the guarantee but is this reasonable for a second hand engine? i understand the wideblock motors are difficult to find so maybe its worthwhile.. getting results of a compression test next weekend so i'll see whether its a good motor or not..:)

anyone got a good 2ltr block or complete motor theyd like to get rid of? can travel as far as perth
