HELP HELP! required please in Brisbane tomorrow morning?

Post by groupAralliart »

Hi, yes I simply need about 4 blokes (the basic weight of a motor) to stand inside my engine bay as I check wheel clearances.

I can get the ride height I need by adjusting down the coilovers but this brings the spring seat into a position which interfears with the rim size I want. With the weight over the front end I would guess that I could wind the spring seat up and the spring would simply take more load and allow for the tyre clearance. If I can get a few guys/girls together at 10.00am tomorrow morning? it would be a great help otherwise I will just wait until I have the engine in and measure it then. (That will be putting the wheel order back some 3 months though!)

If you are about (I live in Mt Gravatt East / Holland Park area) I could also get my neighbour, wife, anyone walking up the street etc etc.

Thanks Steve

P.S. Any one know the weight of a complete 4G63 with box, turbo etc?

I do have a fwd cordia 4g63 motor sitting right next to the car but don't have an engine crane to position it into the engine bay - bugger.

I know and I think that is what I will do. 8 1/2" with the same outside dish I want is a safer bet.

Okay, am going to go with 10" rears adding 30mm to the dish and the other 21mm to the inside. 9" fronts (I know Dave, but I am going to try them) with 30mm added to the outside dish of the rim and the other 21mm to the inside offset. I hope that these will look great and more so fit without any issues. I know the rears will be fine but fronts are agamble. Garry (KIT), Anthony (MrBishi) and I need to come around and check out your rims and tyre fit to guard. When will you be home or just leave the keys in the letterbox!! Cheers, Steve
