I took the widey to the track
Man, I can't describe how much i missed not having a rwd car. I spent more time sideways with a big smile on my face than i did in a straight line.
I managed a 1:16.9170 on street tyres and stock boost, It can certainly go faster but i wanted the car to last the whole day. My radiator held up no probs even with 3 straight sessions. I didn't want to cut up my car but i am definately getting a cage after seeing someone roll it yesterday (no doubt it saved his life) scared the crap out of me. I had one session where the line to the actuator came off and i kept hitting boost cut (thank god). I made a quick dodgy camera mount but it wasn't high enough to see the track just me driving When i find some pics i will post them up for you.

I was running stock shp struts in the front and dobinson lowered springs. In the rear i had coilovers with koni adjustables on the hardest i could make them. The result was oversteer city I had front and rear strut braces, and most of the noltec bushes fitted except the idler arm ones as the widey uses a bigger bush. The rear control arm bushes didn't go in because the bolts were siezed, and i chose to wait until i can get new bolts.
As for the wheels i went with the 16's the car came with, so 16x8 front and 16x9 rear. Tyres are yokohama dna sport drive (never heard of them)

Looks like you need some suspension!
Only in the front. The rear is more than capable, I am making another set of coilovers as we speak. Because the shock is shorter, they have just cut below the spring perch and welded the sleeve on to suite the travel of the shock has. I plan to use the same shocks, but add a spacer in the bottom so i can retain the height of a standard strut.
Thanks JJH,
Oran park is the next RENEW track day, so i will be out in force with a cage, semi slicks, new coilovers and mpi :D
Maybe there will be another visit to wakefield soon, if a certain forum member can pull there finger out and finish there intercooler install rofl

getting there - cutting and shaping the alum pipes this weekend then off to the welders, a polish then in it all goes.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
