here is some of what i have been messing around with.
here is a Bomz one for a neon. it matches right up to the rear bolts.
this is what i have right now. i need to finish those brackets. i had them water jet cut out of aluminum. they fit the upper strut tower perfect.
close up of the plates i had made.(the silver ones on top off the Cusco's)
with those plates and this bar all i need is to make a weld on bracket for the front
could also use this straight one......

looks pretty good. you worried about the thickness of those plates? they look thin in the pictures. I probably wouldnt use anything thinner than 6mm or so.

i think they are good. i know the are much stonger than the steel plates that come on most aftermarket stuff including the mookeeh ones for out cars.

You're well on the way. But they won't work for Aus cars, brake reservoir is in the way.
Also, you'll need to get the end supports parallel to the cross bar or you'll have issues with the mounting bolts. I used rose joints to bypass that situation.

can you guys relocated the fluid res.? I know our boosters are different but our cars came with remote clutch and brake master reservoirs.

It'd be easier and simpler to get a strut brace that just fits properly instead.

Yeah its easier to just design around it. Is there any problem with moving the strut brace closer to the front of the car? Instead of the rear? Does it work better closer to the rear does it?

It's easier to clear everything when the bar is located back further. Don't have to go over the TB etc. and aftermarket hard pipes stick up further.
Aus cars, no choice due to the brake fluid cap.

if you go further forward away from the fire wall is there any chance you can tie another member back to the firewall? those seem to really stiffen these cars up.
