Stub axles

Post by JD_Stazza_Brendan »

Went to the drags last night to give my JA a run with its current motor before going to the new one. 15.40 @ 90 mph in street trim was the best i could get which was the first run with the clutch getting worse after 2 more runs so i called it quits.
Davidbek95 also had his car there but on our run he sheared both Stub axles in half on the line. Giving me the win rofl

Anyone else broke these before?
We thought the gearbox, diff, driveshaft bolts would have given way before the stub axles.

Then again, Dave is rough on gear LOL

The carnage, This is between where the 4 bolts from the driveshaft are and the wheel hub.

Nice work Brendan. It will be good when you send the JD down for Chris to fit the big hp setup.

As for Daves effort - Geez.... I guess its a good thing the diff is ok. It shouldn't take you long to change the drive shafts and get back out there :)

havnt done that, interesting it did both at same time! but i have snapped the left hand drive shaft off in the diff before (there's vid on you tube my mate just uploaded of it) will post pics of that too. it broke behind the spline, sent shards of metal inside the diff, had to be pulled down and cleaned out..

We thought something else would have gone first. Like the 4 bolts holding the axle to the hub or something in the gearbox.

This all proves that Dave is a rough c### rofl

ouch, id guess he lost traction then hooked up? The way they broke looks like they just twisted. Im sure it was bound to happen over long term fatigue on the parts but both at the same time is impressive! :D
