Iv just finished installing a new radiator, and the front end is also re-assembled now. Im currently looking for injectors and coils.
Has anybody tried the reconditioned/2nd hand evo ones off ebay or should i go for new ones?

Also what sort of coils should I be using with an EMS quad coil setup.

I wish I had had the time and money to do up the engine bay like you are when she was mine. Well done! Make me proud. I have a couple of questions though. Why cover up the cold intake through the RHS guard with the water bottle? you should be drawing cold air through that sucker cold air is less dense and you will need to get the temperature of that pod (right next to the outlet piping from the turbo) as cold as possible. It may look good for a photo shoot in a magazine, but you'd be better off with a steel barrier between that pipe and the pod. Even completely wrapping it in a stainless steel sleeve, open at the bottom, with a large wide pipe leading up to it from below. Although you may get more air in through the pod than the original, because the air in the engine bay is so hot it will cancel any advantage in efficiency. Cold air inductuction is very important thats why i modified the can and had the hole in the bottom. Anyway thats my 50 cents worth, its done now and its looking good. Please send me some photos as you progress I cant wait to see more..... Guy

Because moving the water tank opens up a way bigger cold air intake on the front below the headlight.

Very Nice pipe work.

But what is that T for on the turbo intake?
There doesn't seem to be a need to plumb the BOV back into the intake if your not using a MAS/MAF

Keep us posted of the progress

Like anything its completion is just a matter of time and money. Unfortunately my lyfestyle doesn't permit me to have both at the moment, the staz only gets a couple of hours each weekend. So it could be a couple of months yet. i do have some more pictures with the new radiator in though.

Try a Green chip stick to cover the chips temporarily until you can afford the time and money to respray. Nice job so far, post more as it happens I really appreciate it.

good

Post by 4gpwr »

Mate it looks good . Get rid of the PCV hose to the intake . There are a few ways to make the PCV [ and eng breathers ] work better . I dont want to go into details but when the motor makes boost and pressureizes the crankcase , and you then shut the throttle [eg change gear] , and have high vac in the intake the PCV will suck in oil , causes detonation , last stock piston motor I had it cracked 3 pistons for that reason.
