Dumb Question.
Does anyone know how bad the engine vibrates if you remove the balance shafts without getting it balanced?

not too bad at all except for around 3000 RPM (which I think from memory is 100kph in 5th!) which comes up through the gear stick a bit. If you didn't tell the passenger I don't think they would notice.
However if you get the balance shaft timed wrong BIG vibrations!!!!
The engine acceleration is much improved they really rev out. I would recommend this for club car use. You will notice the difference the first time you drive it. However if you can get it balanced you should (ie.if you are doing a rebuild).

dumb question
you get no gain at all from removing the ballancer so why do it. the only reason ralliart removed this on group A cars was because they had problembs with them seizing at high revs but soon after they found the cause of this and reinstated the ballancer.
i noticed some vibration coming up through the gearstick as well with the balance (silent) shafts removed, otherwise ok.
but my engine had been rebuilt and balanced anyway.
it must consume some power to spin 2 unbalanced lumps of steel at twice engine revolutions. i seem to recall reading on some us staz site that the gain was about 18hp (on a 4G54) at max revs.
