Stock or not

Post by Alspos »

Should I put in crappy CD player and black console parts (and allow for guages underneath later) or put in pristine original silver radio and tape deck? Car is silver, interior light and dark blue.

If your car is mint original go with the stock radio... if it's not go for the CD player and keep the radio. If the factory is a tape deck you could always get an adapter thingee and have an MP3 player or something to plug into it?

Interior is stock grey velour/light blue carpet/light and dark blue vinyl. (Series 2 JA) Only thing different so far is 6x9 speakers in the front doors.

Decisions...decisions....

Another option - You could roll with the original tape/am/fm in the stereo gap so it LOOKS stock and then somehow have a hidden proper cd player - under seat/glovebox etc.. (Note that not much thought went into this so flame away!)

My stock radio & junk went into the bin a couple of days after I got my car. You aren't planning a concourse restoration are you?

I have a CD player out of BCFH if you're interested. You can have it for free, just pay the postage.

Fits straight in.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
