Have heard some nasty things about the Mookee coilovers, supposedly very clunky and not captive on some cars.
Another company over there called Cosmo Racing make dual spring kits with a main and keeper spring to keep them captive at all times, and they run the same spring rates 8kg front and 6kg rear. Il be going with these ones i think when i get round to building my race suspension. They are very reasonably priced too at around $200USD.

If you built a drift starion that would be the only one i have seen in aust if you were in melbourne i would sponcer the tune,and some dyno work ect .Only if i think you could steer and could get the car out there.

stiff low suspension (mookeeh coilovers look promising ) HOT BITS can make coilovers to suit any car they give expert advice and the best backup for their products the only problems with starions is that they req your struts

ur obviously (i hope) talking about the mookeeh "coilover" spring conversion kits and not the 2 different types of full complete adjustable coilovers that are in the group buy section of starquestclub??? they have keepers etc.. i'm looking at buying the proper mookeeh ones for my widey. if i wanted a conversion kit i'd go to any suspension shop and buy em they're cheap as.

ps 4gpwr i was drifting my orange one at QR in 2003.... there have been a few others at QR too including a green one that goes out. also a yellow one from BTL in victoria that had a little pic in drift battle magazine..

Redzone i have been looking into them aswell :o I wonder if he will ever put a set on a shocky dyno. My other option is to buy the springs like you mentioned and fit my koni adj out of my narrow body set.

yeah would be good hey. the adjustable platforms is the easy part. getting shock adjustability ON THE CAR and with a wide range is the desirable part for a drifter or track weapon.. thats why these ones they do are interesting to me. if i hadn't have bought that red JB i'd have some of these mookeeh coilovers by now and we'd know for sure :beer

I went for K sport package, has 32 adj damping choices, fully adj camber plates, springs remain captive all the time, cost an absolute bucketload though but I wouldn't go back to stock struts again

I think spring captivity is the easy thing to over come
with good old U-bolts top and bottom
(I hear ya) (how ?) well australia is the home of inventors ay ?
shit toranas (LC-LJ) had bolts as standard,
'didnt they old boys" ? you must remember

but most good struts have wind up bottoms on them anyway
and have nothing to do wih the spring rate adjustment.

well you ever driven one with a locked diff?

starion suspension is perfect for drifting with aid of good shocks, bushes, realiable diff, tyres,

Yeah was talking bout the sleeve kits Redzone not the full adjustable coilover kits. Id sell my left nut for a set of them if they work as good as they look

I have been drifting my panda ja for about 3 years. Mostly touge but have been to a few track days and it performs really well. maybe not as good as a hatchi or s13 but close. Its all in the setup. The car is off the road at the moment undergoing a twin cam conversion among other things and "should" be finished early september. Then its back to the track for some fine tuning and hopefully some competitions in 09.

I remember Merv here in Christchurch was going to build a drift car, He has a real mint rally car. Jas would probably know if Merv ever got round to building this...
