Has anyone heard a starion with a twin exhaust (one on each side)
Is it possible to do? Does it sound really bad?
I URGENTLY need an exhuast and was contemplating this, so any help would be great on what everyone else runs..

The question is - why would you want to run twin exhausts?
A twin exhaust on a V6 or a V8 makes sense. Two smaller seperate exhaust systems for each bank of cylinders down each side of the car rather than one larger single exhaust.
But on a straight line engine it doesn't make sense unless you're after that rice look.

I think twin exhausts look cool. I've seen it on another Scorp, and want to do it to my Scorp :D One of my old Scorps even had twin sidepipes My crazy mate even wants to do it to his TM Magna
The main problem that i can see with them is the fuel tank. It's off to one side, and you will be struggling to find enough room for a muffler on the passenger side.

Fuel tank is in the way on passanger side. Plenty of cars with inline motors have used a twin system, usually to save ground clearance.
Ive seen rally cars running twin 2in pipes side by side down one side of the car instead of a large 3in pipe.
This could be a good idea on a starion, as my 3in pipe is a bit flat from lack of ground clearance.
Take it to HyTech and see what they suggest as they do heaps of rally systems. Top qual work.

i dont think itll look all that good on a starion, if i had a widebody i probably wouldnt make it look ricey...i would get a remus rear muffler with the twin 3inch tip out the back... (very neat)
or just a 3 inch straigh through pipe..couloured black... :)

I am going to do this one day, purely for looks value. One pipe runs under the car direct, the other pipe feeds off the side of it. The second exhaust adds no performance value really, but looks cool (I reckon)
I was thinking AeroTech rear apron, with the two pipes coming out, one on each side.
But as mentioned about the fuel tank, I never thought of that, make sure to check for clearances.

I tried it with twin 2 and a quarter inch pipes, purely for ground clearance.
1) It was a pain in the arse to build
2) since I have changed to a 2.5 inch, I think the car actually goes better.
To qualify this you must bear in mind that I changed the dump pipe including turbo flange at the same time, so it may a bit of false impression.

I would prefer single out the side. But I'm unsure what NZ legalities on the issue are. I think its 'behind the rear passenger door', which it would be on a Starion.
My Galant is interesting, its got a twin muffler thing going on, only kicks in at certain rpm, car is silent then you hit about 4000rpm on WOT, and it sounds like a Honda 'BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'. I think its just the basic theory of once there is heaps of flow, it creates pressure on the straight pipe, and forces more through the other pipe by itself.
Twin muffler thing for me is looks, I'd imagine a decrease in low end torque and the likes, same as fitting a 3 inch or larger exhaust.
