If u had $2000 to spend on ur Stock ass starion...would u do something mechanically or try and make it look nice?
i know, i know, cant do much with $2000, but slowly slowly u can do stuff...cant u?
ok...coz i recently bought another JA, and i was planning on slowly building it up whilst i drive my other one....
shit, i have fallen under the starion curse....now i have 2!
so its a complete rebuild, interior, exterior, and engine.....it'll probably take me a good 5 years to do
Cooler, exhaust, bleed valve, Nolathane bushes, lowered springs. That ought to nearly soak up 2K.
Tyres, brake pads, slotted rotors, shocks, steering wheel. Theres another 2K or so.
Now you'll stop and turn better.
Headwork, turbo rebuild/hi flow, multipoint, computer. Theres some more money right there.
Engine rebuild, forgies, conrods, balance shaft mods, ARP studs. That ought to keep you working overtime for a while.
Rims & tyres - 1K +
Bodywork/paint - 2K +
Interior re-trim - 1K~3K
Big Stereo - 1K +
geez mate, u've only gone 10 grand ova my budget! :P
well i got 2 1/2" exhaust in my everyday starion, so thats a few hundred off.... i was goin to get chris collier to rebuild the engine for me, but he suggested that i spend the money on making it look nice first...
i'm confused...... :?
I have crappy steel belted radials that have no grip in dry or wet conditions, an enourmous tyre profile (215/65/15), and because no asshole has cleaned my mags, I can not get the brake dust off no matter how much tyre foam, or sandpaper I use.
Although to be honest, at the moment, I'd just pay some guy to make it go again.
If anyone is remotely interested, I came up with a nickname for my car. Its now called 'Mr Rattles'
1997 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV 4G63BT
1996 Nissan Maxima VQ30DE (for sale, suit someone who likes the feel of boats when driving)
lol, mr rattles... i wonder if we're the only ones that have named our cars?
yeh i dare say if you really wanted to do the car up properly chris would want u to turn up with more then 2k to do the engine properly in 1 go. if the engine isn't dead or on its way out, i'd go the nice cooler setup, boost controller for that instant quick HP. that way you can keep the setup as well after when the new engine gets done. try not to spend it on anything your gonna have to redo later on, eg: a cheaper rebuild when your gonna do an expensive one later on. do everything once and do it well :P
mine is called 'f#@*ing worthless pile of s*#t that sits in the corner all the time and goes nowhere while still costing me every spare f*#@ing cent i earn week after week without ever looking like it will go again and in general pissing me off to no end'
'bob' for short
I figured out the meaning of life, and since then every day just gets worse.
