interesting is this article.

It states the car is 1050kg and the displacement is 2140cc, which seems to be incorrect from what mitsubishi advertised on their museum car.

The upper specs seem much more competitive compared to the museum car specs. Apparently they group b cars were modified from the so called production versions that would be available. My only guess is the yellow car was closer to a production car, and the white red and orange car was a group b car?

^^^ that article is spot on. did u know andrew cowan still owns that ralliart livery car? aaron (djalpha) who is a rally tyre technician for michelin, talked to him at rally australia last year, he was apparently planning on restoring it and bringing it out to play again soon. not sure if anything has yet happened. maybe we should start spamming ralliart with restoration requests lol

Ralliart built more than 2 , off the top of my head I think they built 4 but I'll dig the info up . I have all the specs and info on these . HKS also built their own version ( two of ) but they looked absolutely shite .

These cars were raced in Group B and initially were very competitive but had reliability issues. By the time they were sorting out the reliability issues and starting to make some good power to catch the Peugeots and Audis , Group B got banned .

These cars used the DASH sohc , although the HKS ones used a Twin cam head of their own design and manufacture .

The car at the start of this thread is an ex Ralliart car that was bought and run by 555 Racing ( and is in their colours ) in Rallycross type events as was the fate of many Group B cars . It lives in the Mitsubishi Museum most of the time but gets out to Starion club events sometimes . And yes , Andrew Cowan does still have one .
