Tyre Width/Height

Post by Alspos »

Ever wondered how big your tyres can go and how far your speedo will be out? No? Well read no further.

If you are curious, then download http://www.pbn.com.au/staz/TyreHeightCalculator.xls and see what you think.

This is the first draft and seeing as I don't have a JB tyre placard in front of me, I have based it on JA. And yes I know the aspect ratio vs width are not exactly right in the real world, at least it's close.

yes I find that 17'' 235 45 works well for the rear, going to see if I can get a 255 45 under the back on of these weekends, I have one just need to get another.

Ive been using the visual calc from miata.net for long time.

Bloody handy.

Since I have the 3.9 diff, was thinking of setting the speedo cable to the 3.5 diff setting, and putting on bigger wheels ehehe but I think the LTSA gets angry about that kind thing now days.
