Post by ivailo76 »

I had measured the compression pressure of my stock Starion 4G63 engine.About me the results are more than good- I have the car from 2 years and never open the engine and the previous owner also.
But how you thing? Is the results good?Lets show your compression test results- it will be interesting for all of us :P

I find the biggest problem with sharing compression results is that the length of hose on the tester extends the head cc volume and therefore fluctuates the PSI rating depending on the tester used by each person.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

You are right but the length of hose of my tester is like the picture from the service manual. And I think every original compression tester is with similar lenght. So its good every to note is its length of hose is longer or shorter than service manual picture.I want to compare others results with my results

when rebuilt and run in my 2.6 that was running perfect was 145 across all 4...

its not so much how many PSI it is how consistant the cylinders are.

yours looks fine to me. couple of psi here and there is nothing, if three were 150 and one was 80 there would be an issue :)

Length of hose makes no difference to the results. Those are perfect.
