You could pick up a N/A Front drive model for about $7K I reckon. They are a land barge in that format though - The magna would probably be more fun!NachoMan wrote:Indeed. I'd have 2! :)Starion_Turbo wrote:If only you could actually get a 3000gt for those kind of prices

Yeah I'd only have A VR4 version too, but only the 3000GT, not the GTO
why.. what's the difference between the 3000gt and the gto? i thought they were the same??

I've only seen GTOs here, 5 to 10gs should get a good 1 (if there is such a thing) Later ones sit in yards for years at a time,

3000GT is the locally delivered Australian version, whereas the GTO is the Jap import. Curiously, it's usually the Jap import that has the better spec, but not in this case.thrash wrote:why.. what's the difference between the 3000gt and the gto? i thought they were the same??
GTO has smaller turbos, 180kmh jap speed limiter, and comes in a variety of trim/equipment levels including, (as mentioned before), a completely awful and pointless FWD N/A variant. some were even FWD twin turbo!
3000GT's are VR4 (4WD) models, have bigger turbos, no speed limiter, more power, all of the active aero stuff, and one equipment level with a few factory options, eg. sunroof. I actually think the 3000GT looks a bit nicer too, with the wrap around indicators on the front, but that's just me I guess.
There are very few cosmetic differences, so the easiest way to tell them apart is to get a look at the back centre garnish, provided it's still factory original. This spells it out clearly. :)
