Nup, nope, NO!
I can't!
As much as I'd like a widebody, I just can't bring myself to buy another one of these cars...yet.
Not a bad price though, and if I could get away to look at it, then I'd probably consider it.
Poo! :(
owning a widebody is completely unlike owning an early starion. they seriously got all the bugs ironed out by the time they arrived. i havnt had any dramas at all with mine, other than a noisy balance chain, but that comes standard on any 2.6 shitter....

all i'm saying is, dont look at it like just another starion

He was probably only refering to the 2.6 as a shitter in comparison to the much more refined and technically superior 4g63 power plant! :D

to be brutally honest, the 2.6l is probably one of the reasons why i wouldn't like to own a later model Staz.
I think Mitsubishi hit the jackpot when they created the DASH 4G63.
Of course by today's standards, it might seem a little archaic though...

As an owner of both I call BS. :D

The 2.6 is very lazy to drive compared to the 2.0L. No question that stock the 2.0L shits from a great height. Modified is a different game however.

The 4G63 just has that legendry status.
Ask someone to name a Mitsubishi engine code, most would say 4G63.
-JA Starion with JD bits , Forged engine, Heaps of mods (parked up)
-BFII XR6 Turbo Ute , Here comes 400hp for 2k :p
-77 Mazda 323 drag car. 13bt rotary project.

Yes i have too many toys.

The 2.6 can shit all over the 2.0 SOHC motors. Not in its stock form, mainly because of the flow of the head, and the Eco Cam.

However a DOHC head is another ball park.

If you are staying SOHC, I personally would go 2.6 because you can get more flow etc. The 2.0 is lighter etc, but I think it is personal preference in this area. DOHC is another league of its own, which shouldn't even be mentioned With SOHC rofl

fastest time my buddy and I have managed to get a stock tbi 12a starion at 15lbs on street tires, just general all seasons on a rebuilt engine was 14.0 with a 1.960ft I think it did have a exhaust on it. If you like to rev g54b definately isnt teh one for you, if you like explosive torque down low then yuo tend to like em.

^^^and thats the main reason mitsubishi put the 2.6 in for the american market, was because american's were more used to low revving torquey powerplants and (for the most part) wouldn't have liked to have to rev the 4G63 sohc so hard..
