starion front bar.. beauty or beast? or just plain hideous??

it's hideous!! arghh my eyes! but i would get a body kit if a decent one was made for the starion

starion facelift.. to rice or not to rice

Post by thrash »

hey guys and gals!

was bored, and started wondering.. what if the big jap tuning companies like jun, veilside, chargespeed etc paid some due attention to the starion.. what would they come up with..

SO.. i've come up with my very own (and very crude) drawings of what a rice style front end for a starion would look like :D

My question to you is.. if this kit was available off the shelf (BWAHAHAHAHA rofl), would you consider getting it? or do you think i've just ruined the look/ appeal of the car?

comments? love mail? hate mail? death threats? I'm interested to know what the community thinks

Looks like a snowplough at the front.
I think if it wasn't so long, ie ground clearance, and if it didn't jut out quite so much it would look ok.

Just my 2 cents, but it's your car...

the starion is a boxy car.. lots of angles.. no smooth curves.. so a curvy front bar wouldn't suit it methinks..

For s straight body, I would buy a kit any day, BUT for a widebody, I think they got the kit JUST right. They could have made the rear wing slightly better, and there are one or two slight mods to the front that could be done, but besides that, I think it is perfect.

I vote for "the starion isn't a rice car and shouldn't be messed with like this.. shame on you.." but my girlfirend says its nice :) well, woman, what else to say :)

I think that Starion is old school Jap GT car and its beatifull as it is, and it should stays like that. :)

nice original idea with the header panel there, although it'd probably work better with the late model bonnet. last one doesn't look toooooo bad.

i've dug up some old decoy rice for ya:

decoy's first one i don't know, but i do like the look of the metal replacements for the rear side windows.. too bad i need them to see my blind spots.. otherwise i'd actually consider that

the second one has a modded 180sx front end, doesn't it deeks?
hope you have the power to back it up
and no, my car doesn't have any power.. power costs money i don't have.. yet..

i'll be amazed if my car can churn out 50kws at the wheels :x

work on the power end of things should be starting late februry 2008, if i keep the car that long.. since i want ONE car that can be a daily driver AND decently quick, i might just get something else for now and come back to starions when i can afford to leave a car in my garage 11 months a year.

Say, what part are you refering to when you say "header panel"?

and come on, we all love the bonnet scoopp.. i was actually thinkin of lowering it so the top of the scoop sits aligned with the top of the headlights (when down of course), and having the middle section lowered, so there would be smooth low areas between the angular headlamps and the bonnet scoop

i'll post up another picture after i've drawn it.. wait till i'm bored and high again.
