Post by djalpha »

just returned from rally japan. walked around the service park and noticed a replica group b 4wd starion parked. on the demountable unit where official movie posters with this website. http://specialstage.net/ check it out. they drove it over the hump at the official rally start ceremony before the wrc cars where introduced.

Good find and good to see it up there with today's supercars (in the trailer at least).
I think the shovel-nose is starting to look less weird.
Now can you tell us what they are saying in English?
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?

and someone on another site said

The story is (I think) about an old rally driver who found a street legal Group A Starion and drives it around mountain passes. The story is fairly similar to Wangan Midnight, especially the relation between Akio and his Z. Special Stage revolves around rallying instead of highway racing

looks interesting

It's based off of that manga/comic someone posted up a little while ago, got the pic at home somewhere. And apparently the comic was based off of a real rally driver...

That's NOT a replica , it's the ex 555 Racing Group B car lol . I've been in that car .

If he said it was a narrow body with a kit , of course it was . That's how the Group 'b' cars were made . The Widebody road car was made 2 years later .

Supposedly 3 replicas were built for the movie.
