yeah he's using 6 bolt stuff of course.

reason the orange thing didnt see over 20 psi is because we wanted it to be reliable and last a reasonable amount of time. it still runs standard head bolts and a non metal head gasket. both parts i would upgrade if we wound it over 20 psi..

other reason a lot of people dont wind the boost that far here is budget. most people anyway. as i've said before, hopefully phil pulls his finger out and we do something with his stroker. not holding my breath though, he's just become a dad..

Correct the crank will be lightened a little by reducing the diameter of the counterweights to give adequate rotational clearence to oil squirters
Will have cam back next week with special grind to suit the proposed 300hp+ atw and 3000 to 6500 rpm powerband
Hope to have custom pistons b 4 Xmas & will hand all of Franks bits to J&L Machineing to build it to race specs in early 2008
When it is installed and run in it will be dynotuned by Phil Laird

Then you had better front up now as she (who must be obeyed :( ) has just found out
she overheard me ordering pistons from Derek ( I'M BEGINING TO THINK THE WALLS IN THIS HOUSE HAVE EARS )
Picking up the custom carbon button clutch & lightened flywheel this week
when the pistons arrive then I will have all of Franks bits and then they will all go to J & L MACHINEING for the block to be chemicaly cleaned ,decked & bored to suit the 86mm Wiseco skirt coated pistons
for blueprinting and assembly to race specs
The spare gearbox I got from Greg has been taken apart and is in excellent condition and will be Cyrogenicly treated nxt week before reassembly with new bearings & seals then all i need is volunteers to fit the whole shooting match in my JB :D

Hey Rad,

Get them to give you a shot of the Cryogenic treatment while they're at it, you could last forever then and have fun with Frankenstein for a bloody long time :D

Good to hear that gearbox came up trumps, it felt good when it was in the car. As a point of interest, that particular one got used by Ron in the Group A at E/Creek one weekend when he blew the c/r one upon the Saturday. Nxtime, Chefman and me ripped it out of the car in the arvo and Ron then fitted it in the pit garage on the Saturday evening and ran it on the Sunday. Held together for him for the rest of the meeting, but the ratios werent the same as the C/R one. :( \

So for anyone who doubts the strength of the Starion 'box, there is proof they are tuff little suckers if used properly.
