Starion_Kid696's JA starion

Post by Starion_Kid696 »

Hey this is my 82 JA starion. I bought it not running as a project car, was told all it needed was a new fuel pump.. but just a good tank clean out and new fuel filters it started and drove. It had front impact damage done just after it had been built at SVS and sat for numerous years unused.. when i got it, it hadn't even done more that 350km's since rebuild. i got the car/project just as i was finishing yr12 and i worked on it in the back yard and it got regestered 4 days before christmas then sat another 2 weeks in back yard getting repaired again (damn hed gasket). now its in the process of getting painted.

when i first got it

nice rust holes in the drivers door :)

filthy interior, water in floor pans

Image
the engine bay.... nice and messy

just before putting on the number plates after getting regestered

i will put up a more detailed pic of the engine bay when i find a camera and a time when the sun is shining.

Mods it already had:
garrett t4 bb turbo
turbonetics delta gate mark 11
front mount intercooler
forged pistons
custom cam
full port and polish
all new internals
removed balance shaft
removed thermostat
MPI conversion
MoTeC fuel management
BOV
3 inch straight thru exaust no cat
16" ROH's
K&N pod filter in custom airbox

Mods i have done after purchasing it:
new guards
new JD bumper
new grille
4 new tyres
oil cooler
new head gasket (yes i blew the head gasket up the day it got regestered stupid wastegate not opening therefore pushing over 30psi boost... went fuckign hard but :))
new hoses here and there
new fuel filters
new fluids all round
new timing belt
new coolant (twice)
new oil (twice)
hatch strut regass
moved boost guage otu of the way of the clutch
fixed most rust
fused the alternator wire (found out it wasnt fused after accidently dropping a 14mm kinchrome while tightening the powersteering pump hhaa)

in the process of getting painted at the moment and also sealing up a few mysterious water leaks when it rains :(

its my first starion and my 2nd car and at a young age i dont have much money... none at the moment actually haha but getting an apprentiship soon so i can finish my starion

Its got all the good stuff. With a paint, engine detail and cleaner interior it will be a very desireable starion
-JA Starion with JD bits , Forged engine, Heaps of mods (parked up)
-BFII XR6 Turbo Ute , Here comes 400hp for 2k :p
-77 Mazda 323 drag car. 13bt rotary project.

Purple?
No! don't paint your car purple. The ONLY car that looks good in purple is a Lamborghini Diablo SE 30 Jota. This car...

SS Purple and green are flavor of the month colours.

Remember Tiger Mica on the VT when it came out? Everyone wanted to paint their car in it and now a few years on it looks like arse.

Stick with a blue I reckon. By no means stock colour though. What about Fiji blue that the US starions came in?
