Starion disease strikes again.*Update 05/01/09*

Post by bigd »

Just took possession of a bit of a timewarp.
A 30k mile starion which was laid up 14 years ago after a wee incident with a fox. Aside from the damage to the front left headlight area (which looks pretty minimal) it is nearly mint. Everything goes, no rust, interior is nearly perfect, soft leather etc. All the parts to fix + more. Choice of bumpers etc... and a boot load of goodies. Super stoked!

Couple of pics:

Plans are to do a bit of a serious service, need to look at brakes, prob change all the calipers and braided lines etc... engine may need to be stripped down after sitting but would rather leave that until I'm back in new zealand. Got a short shifter to put in, boost controller, K&N filter etc Suspension feels super tight but I'll check everything. I have a feeling it's going to take a while. Any suggestions as to what to change etc more than welcome!

The missus was semi dark on me getting another one. Reckons no one needs three cars the same. Should see all the shoes she's got. Same thing in my opinion. :beer

Cheers. Just been checking out some of the history etc that came with it and the owner was meticulous. Has couple of manuals etc, mitsubishi owners club stuff, has all the services up to 40k miles completed, receipts, valve caps, seat belt pads, the original floor mats in new condition, magazines with starion articles, even has HKS upgrade brochures and quotes for various stages of upgrade up to an upgrade for 310 bhp (stage 7)! It was certainly worth the wait!

ummm... where do you keep it..?

if i could afford the air fare i'd fly to ireland, break in and steal those fronts seats.. since i can't boost the entire car

of course, just to be nice, i'd leave you my front seats so your car would still be... complete :wtf:

Cheers for all the comments guys!

Was thinking of keeping it standard. I'll see how it goes.

- Yeah it's a 2L , to ship a personal container back with other stuff in it it as well will cost me about 4k euro but that'll fit a lot of stuff. Just one car unfortunately but could be room for parts.

- There are a couple of airdams on the ground there. Couple of bumpers. One of the bumpers is the american style one without the number plate holder. Still undecided which one to put back on. All 88 stuff. The red bumpers and dams there are original.

MSS - love it. Definitely got a case of that.

Will keep you guys updated on progress. :beer
