A friend and I just recently rebuilt my engine and had it on the dyno to see what the G63B can push out with a standard ecu/tbi injection, thought I'd share the results.
While rebuilding the engine we got rid of the balance shafts and used Ts pistons, we also dropped in a very mild sports cam and the turbo is a mix of a 14b wheel with a 070 exhuast housing and a standard compressor cover.
On the first run at 13psi the engine developed 200hp atw but the AFR was running lean by miles, peaking between 14-17:1 so we reduced the boost to 10psi and made a safe 180hp atw / 274 Nm, 12:1 AFR.
The guys at NZEFI reckon with a stable map @ 13psi, the engine could potentially make 220-230hp atw as it was very responsive to boost increase.
Also bumped into this little beast while I was there.
which year is this model?
As a friend is running a 89 model with a rather large turbo at 12 psi and it`s more on the rich side.. Is there such a big difference between the early 2,6l models and the newer ones?
It's a 83 GSR II with a few cosmetic bits off a later model, the air dam is one of JAS's.

Get rid of your balance shafts while you have the chance, higher static comp pistons are desirable too.

Yes the fuel pump and fuel reg are standard, we tested the fuel pressue and it held it's pressure even at 13 psi. I think it comes down to the injectors/ecu which will be next on the agenda.
I think you could have run higher fuel pressure with a rising rate fuel reg to get more flow out of your injectors. Some people do that as a bandaid solution but the only issue is you will run rich in areas that weren't lean before.
Do you just use the clearances that the piston manufacturer recommended?
