Another Another Replacement Ride

Post by SpidersWeb »

Sold my Starion EX last week, and picked up the new toy yesterday. Needs a wash, and a lot of TLC, but here it is:

I still do have one Starion left though :)

My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.

Its got the M30 3.5L SOHC inline-six engine (211hp). The 535i was later replaced by the 530i and 540i which were DOHC V8 powered. Unfortunately a 540 V8 was just a wee bit out of my price range hehe

1988-89 635CSi's received the same engine yep :) I love it, but already want more power. Looking harder to do without any turbos hanging off the exhaust manifold though

Cruiser it is then! haha

They run a fairly conservative compression ratio for a N/A engine, maybe some potential in shaving the head? It's ashame only 5% come in manual. :(

The engine is strong enough for boost too, there are kits you can buy :) one I was looking at provided 475rwhp on stock pistons at 6psi, using the stock ECU but reprogrammed with bigger injectors.

I'm poor as usual, so probably wont do this ever, but its nice to have the dream :)

haha

few days ago my windscreen fogged up as I was pulling out my drive, and I've been using the mrs MX5 for the last while which is nice and thin, anyway to cut a long story short, the 535 with my help took out our mailbox.

Poor thing. The letterbox came out 2nd best though, just a small dent, a scrape, and a few scratches. The mailbox itself looks like it was run over by a car (funny that).

Oh and I finally sold those 15" Starion wheels I had for just under $200. They're being consumed by yet another turbo EX Lancer rally car.
