You gotta be happy with that, remember your turbos' effciency range is like in the 20-30psi area

If you want more power on low boost, then you should swap to something smaller :?

I do want more. I will need a supra or auto box sometime. The pistons will have to come out eventually too.

John wound it upto 16psi and made 180 but it had a misfire. The ignition system couldn't keep up or something. $400 for a new BOSCH setup and $800 for something else better again.

I'd love it to crack above 200kw but had a little incident today that might have me thinking twice :)

Are you running a single Coil ? If so, John would've meant upgrading to a twin or Quad coil set-up and for $800 I'm guessing he means Coil-on-plug setup, but unless these names ring a bell then he could have said anything......

What happen today anyhow ? not a fine ? or did you break the LSD ?

A Supra box won't help your traction issues where as an Auto will

I knew the road was wet and floored it in second. Power came on and the car just flung around. It started to kick the tail out like normal but the rear came all the way around! and I ended up facing the way I came from and on the correct sid eof the road. Inches from the curb!!!! some kids saw it and were cheering me on. Dropped it into first and drove off.

As for the coils. I aint to sure. I think he wanted to take out the whole MSD system? Looking at a sigma at the moment. Once I know if I can get it then I might look for more from the starion.

your very lucky no one was behind you LOL

You talking about a Sigma Auto box right ? Best to look at adapting a Jatco or Powerglide box onto the block by whatever means possible :P

These are the most common high-HP Auto-boxes used by most here in S.A. and therefore should be relatively cheap to build/rebuild up to certain specs without sucking too much power, but do shop around and be prepared to pay up to $4K depending on how high of a stall convertor you go for too, definately not a cheap exercise.......but when you think of it in long terms, the genuine High-HP Supra box is about the $2K figure and then still needs adapting etc, probably more expensive to rebuild than the auto's and won't really be good in terms of 'consistency'

Hey forget about the MSD rubbish go M&W Ignitions. Quality locally designed and built CDI systems, single and multi-channel.

If your MSD has a problem it's junk you can't get them fixed locally.

while we're on the subject of coils i recently received a hard shock from my ignition coil when i touched the rubber "sleave"on the top of the ignition coil while my other hand was on the radiator.
should this happened?

Then it should not be missfiring at 15psi? Something must be wrong, leads? What coils are they?

Hey how do other interstate people know what I have under the hood?
Yeah you right by the way. It has a M&W box connected to 2 coils (with M&W stickers on it) that share 2 leads each.

If it was a plug/lead problem surely this would have been checked?
