FIRST PIX of TWINCAM SETUP

Post by merlin »

I did a trial fit of most of the new bits yesterday and took a few pix.

The thermostat setup still has to be sorted out and the dump pipe is being re-welded, as we had to rotate the turbine housing. All the old inlet stuff should just bolt back on. BOV not even started yet. The thermostat was going to go at the back of the inlet manifold, but it just to crowded! It would fit, but be a nightmare to service. So Its going near the radiator.

Hey Merlin you weren't supposed to say anything until you passed Cookie down the straight
Looks good.

What turbo are you going to run?

the hose arround the back, imagine it growing some and connecting to the -8AN fitting on the inlet pipe (left foreground).

there are 2 turbo setups to try.

the first will be with a TC06 turbine housing (modified wastegate, ceramic coated etc), with a TD05 center and hi-flowed compressor.

the second will be the same turbine setup and a modified TC06 compressor fitted with a T04 wheel (dont know what variant).

both should just swap over with minimal fuss :x

i badly want this running by the end of the month, but little things seem to take forever to resolve

Mark, I had a chat with Chris M, we will investigate getting the thermostat take-off at the back of the head CNC machined up. For something like $120 it would be a bargain solution. So, I need to finish the drawing, ASAP.

Provided you get the appropriate parts custom machined.

So how much for the conversion Merlin? Surely less than a grand, right?
