Starion V8 Hillclimb vehicle
Don't know if you Aussie guys have seen this before - this is a starion (based), 377 chev V8 powered 4wd hill climb weapon, record holder at the Ashley Forrest Hill climb in NZ (56seconds). http://www.jkracing.co.nz/racing_pics.htm (near bottom of page)
There is now also a sister car based on a cordia, mid mounted 377 chev pajero transfer case, diff using kenworth truck gears........[/img]

V8 starion???????
thats the reason why god created turbos so you could have a 4 cylinder car and go quicker then a V8 and if you couldnt beat the V8 the first time you just have to tweak the boost up
bigmoz :pimp

there we go cobbaThe Mitsubishi Cordia 4 Wheel Drive V8 is fitted with a rear engined 377 Chev V8 (570hp) turned 180º. The gearbox is a 4 speed close ratio dog-box (same as the V8 touring cars). Front transfer case is homemade and is fitted with 2 gears from a Kenworth gearbox along with a 5” treble clutch to disengage the front drive when hand brake is applied. The rear transfer case is a chain drive Pajero unit cut in half and bolted to the rear Diff to enable the driveshaft to pass beside the engine. Diffs are modified Pajero plate type LSD units adapted into Mitzi GTO housings.

That reminds me on my search for a 4g64 i rang one guy and he said " 4g64 in a starion why you doing that for? Maaate if you want power you need a 302 windsor" , i replied thats why i have a turbo. Then he told me that they were thinking about putting a windsor in a starion for a hill climb car. Culdnt quite work out if he was taking the piss or was being serious.

yep I did say mid mounted V8 cordia, featured in New Zealand Perforamce car mag race special this year, competed at Ashley forest last couple of years, seriously quick but hasn't been able to get within a couple of seconds of the starions time set by the late Kim Austin (56 sec - also known for hill climbing a RX7 with more tractor parts than car bits in it)
