Finally got around to painting my JA so figured Id post up some pics.

History
Was Bought new in 1982 at Skipper Mitsubishi in WA and has log books and full service history that stops in 1994, since then it had done 3000kms. The owner then got glaucoma and could no longer drive, so it sat in his carport until his son put it in the paddock to make room for his commodore. Unfortunately it was subject to a huge hail storm during this time and was sold to a guy in SA for parts, I went and had a look at it for a spare diff and came home with the whole car. With the interior and motor in such good condition I swapped all the fluids and intake with my smirf blue Ja and got it running. It feels a lot more responsive and smoother with 200,000 less Kms on the clock. It currently has 48,000 Kms on the odometer and drives really well.

Unfortunately i don't have any photos from when i got it but heres heres the respray process:

Nice! That's one hell of a spraybooth
Acrylic or 2-pack?
Brand of paint?
What is the colour & code of the paint?

:pimp

Good job
That's the base coat. I did an acrylic which had a ground coat, base coat and a cleat top coat. And it look that dull prior to the clear

Just got to be careful spraying 2 pack at home. Some of them are pretty nasty.

So this is going to be a drifter ay? Awesome! I'm very much on the lookout for other Drift Starions! I seem to be the only one in Victoria at the moment. Once my new Starion drifter is complete maybe I'll have to come visit the Adelaide drift events and drift with you!

Nice paint prep and painting by the way, will be excited to see how this progresses :) any input you need on parts or setups etc for drifting let me know! I think there are a few other guys on here in other states who drift them too but I haven't quite worked out who.

It will be, so far it has coilovers, exhaust and a few other mods and have an Evo III motor to put in eventually but till then Ill run the SOHC with the td05 and intercooler. I eventually plan on getting 3 piece wing and widey control arms in the future after sway bars and strut braces .
Can I put the Evo III intake manifold on it with the Stinger V4 ecu or are the ports too different?

I look forwards to tandems with your JA, will be nice to go with someone who knows what they are; last time I took it people thought it was a subaru vortex :x

Get side skirts on that thing before the 3 piece wing. I like my whole aero package but the Aerotech side skirts are probably my favorite parts

It really does need skirts I don't like how the bottom curves around under the car. Was thinking about getting a flat piece of metal or something and doing a simple straight one similar to the widebody one, but if anyone has one theyll part with???

The last Aerotech group buy was a bit of a pain in the ass but still glad i did it. I think someone has a flop of it here in australia.

Put a want to buy in the buy sell section and see what pops up. I must say the quality (finish and fitment) of the Aerotech stuff is fantastic.

Let me know if you need some help.

Hi again!

I've created a thread to bring info and photos of drift Starions together, so if you like, jump in there and add a post linking to this thread of yours.

Here's a link to the drift Starion thread...
