My Starion Collection

Post by MitsuMadness »

So! It's been ages since I did a last proper thread on anything I've been doing, and for once, I have been doing heaps! Aside from moving house over a year ago and spending ages clearing space and then building a large workshop with hoist etc so I can work on our projects (yep my wife is into her cars too and has actually claimed the main garage as hers, to convert the back half to a spray booth).

I have been fiddling with all sorts of Starion projects and buying and selling Starions like there's something wrong with me.

I plan on doing another 3 large threads shortly, firstly on the Widebody I purchased from JDSTAZ45, secondly on the yellow twin cam EVO engine Starion I have, and thirdly on the black drift Starion I picked up cheap and am setting up for a bit of track drift fun out at Winton.

So this post here is really just a test post to get me in the swing of it again and make sure I can get the images posted up right and all that.

These photos are of our normal 4 car garage that my wife is getting the back half of as a spray booth once I finish the big shed, and move all my junk out of this garage. These photos were actually taken just over a year ago, and I have now since sold the white GSR-V to JDSTAZ45 as well.

Here was most of my Starion collection as at 1 year ago. I actually also had another two on top of this, but they were just shells, and not worth including in these photos.

Photos looking into the garage:

The yellow Starion on the right is the twin can EVO powered Starion. The burgundy one on the far left is my previous drift/track JB Starion that unfortunately has too much rust to go on, so has now been replaced by this cheap black one I got (post to come soon).

So anyway, there's a few photos, and hopefully it's only a day or two before I get to post the other projects mentioned above!

I just noticed if you look closely you can spot a complete VR4 engine sitting between the yellow and burgundy cars. Not sure what my plans for that is yet, plus I have another VR4 engine in pieces. Oddly enough the yellow Starion is not VR4. It's mostly EVO1 and some EVO2, complete engine, with the rear of the block actually welded and modified by the guy who installed it to fit the Starion gearbox. But I'll get to all that when I make the thread on that car- hopefully with some up close photos too.

Also noticed in the photo taken from inside the garage looking out, you can just see outside, my wife's silver VR4 jap spec machine. Would love to steel the engine out of that haha. :D

Haha! Yeh I reckon!
She invited me to the motor show for our first date. And to propose, I hired out a go-kart track for just us, and told the track guys when I gave them the signal to pull her up and pretend something is wrong with the kart and stop her for a moment then run off, and I came up and got out and proposed to her on the track. Went well! Only problem was that she knew nothing was wrong with the kart haha. But it still worked, and then she nearly beat me in the go-kart when we continued the race after she said yes.

But yeh it's pretty good, it's why I have so many cars. Whenever I look at getting one she says yeh why not. As long as we spend money on her car too. She had a VR4 for a while (as seen in the photo) but recently changed to a 5ltr V8 VL Calais - when I bought the Widey she wanted to get her favourite car too - so I though that was a fair deal. Plus it's pretty fun to drive too.

So I certainly can't complain! Just means I have to use my own common sense (which I don't have much of as you can see) when it comes to not buying too many cars!
The Starions are definitely my favourite though. But somehow I keep picking up cars very cheap-
I also have for drift/track cars (yeh I know- dirty Nissans  But they were cheap an I was in the right place at the right time)
Nissan R32 Skyline
Nissan S13 Silvia
Nissan C34 Laurel (no engine yet tho)

Sounds like I'm rich hey, but nope, I didn't pay more than $1000 for any one of those cars :D

So yeh pretty lucky that neither my wife or I have expensive taste in cars too. Lots of crap cars = at least a few of them should be running at a time!

Looks like you've got the method sorted for loading pics into PB and getting them on here Hugh. Told you it was easy.
Hey, great story about how you proposed. I didn't know that!
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
How?
