Interesting reading!!! From what I can figure everytime it says marketed, the correct word should be homologated. Which basically means it had SFA development, which is not surprising if they reckon it was slower than the old group B Lancers.

Bit of a shame, but they were behind the 8 ball from the start compared to the competition at the time. The car would never have been competitive as a group B car.

The onset of the Group A rules were kinder to the Starion than group B was, mainly because group A is a lot more production based that what group B was, which was pretty much anything goes... However even in group A they suffered from not enough development and slow homologation in bringing changes forward. Something to do with the Jap/English translation getting stuffed up all the time I do believe. Funny that!

Yeah I would LOVE to get my hands on the 2.6 DOHC head. I guarantee that the guys in the states would go nuts if it went into production.
