Did you consider SikaDamp 630 first? Unlike Dynamat, you don't have to cover the whole area. We have used it in the marine industry for years. It's also used in BMW's...., well I've had the door trim off my mums M3 and it's on the door skin and rear quarter panels.

The track car runs no insulation. I like to hear the death rattles before they're terminal LOL
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

i used an insulationmaterial that is like thin bitumen with a foil backing and it comes in different sized sheets, after insulating every panel in my car and experiencing the difference I would never go back inspite of the small weight penalty, it is a different car to drive.

I should have said every floor panel, the rest of the panels are all insulated with Rockwool, its an acoustic insulation and is easily removed, works really well.
