Here you go Redzone :D .
I bought the car in 1991, since then I spend a lot of money on the car. First I did a complete restauration. The rear fenders were completly rusted, so I bought some new fenders. I found some good doors without any rust. The front fenders were Ok.
I also did a engine overhaul with all original Mitsubishi parts. I did a dyno after that and made 170HP. The quest for more hp began, and so I made a custom exhaust from turbo to end. After a few months I did put a I/C on the car and turned up the boost from 0.8 to 1.0 bar. After a few years I bought a garrett T35 turbo and a digit power ECU. The HP I made on the dyno was 243,1HP and 329NM torque. That was with 1,2 bar boost.
This is what the enginebay looked like after all those years.

After running with that engine for a few years I started on a other project. A project I called; 16V twin Cam :D . I started with a Starion shortblock and a 1G eclipse cilinderhead. I've been reading the DSM tuners forum for a few years, so i decided to build my engine DSM style. I bought JE pistons, Eagle rods, HKS 1,2mm headgasket, 680CC injectors and a e-prom ecu for my custom chip. I also wanted to run with a maf from a LS1 with Maf translator.

After the completion I made a dyno run.

When running on the dyno we made a discovery. I needed a new turbo, above a certain rpm the powercurve droped dramaticlly. Back then the most popular turbo is the T3/T4 turbo, so I bought a Turbonetics T3/T04E .50 trim turbo. I don't like internal wastgate, so I went external
A friend of mine made a custom exhaust manifold that could hold the big garrett turbo.

Since I decided to spend some money I changed my evo5 I/C for a bigger one.

When the moment came to make a testdrive a could never expect what would happen when i pushed the throttle down...WOW  what a power! Running at that time with 1,2 bar the difference was shocking!
After some fine tuning and some little hickups I turned up the boost. I'm now running with 1,6 bar boost and it's running like crazy :D

Mr Big smile...
I'm tired of writing. Here are some pictures.

 :o Nice car! How did you turn the throttle body counter-clockwise(1st picture)? I want to do the same on my Starion and I have some ideas but I need some help on this one.

Me too... Havn't looked into making a "adapterplate" yet, but that's (or was) the plan! On the other hand, Im going twincam on the other motor so it might never happen...

Very nice car!!!

I agree awesome car, the more pics the better.
Since we got our Starions from Europe it would have been nice if they bought those here as well, are they lhd only?

We did get Japanese ones though but they are only 1800GSR's

And i'm spent
Do you know how hard it is over here to find one :x

Great work Martijn! I have seen a few pics on projectzerog and the lancer register. I have always thought you should post a proper thread on here.

Is there much difference between the jap 1800 and the 2000?

I am thinking of going twincam 1800 if i keep the cars (well 2ltr pistons in a 1800 block) just so i don't need engineering.

You must have your hands full when she comes on boost  Love it!

The difference between 1800 and 2000 are the 1800 has an I/C and some body details. Its not wise to give full throttle in a corner, because the back is very tail happy. The big advantage is that i've got an LSD, before the LSD, one of the rear wheels kept on spinning which isn't much fun. The few LT owners here in Holland are invited by the Lancer register to come over celebrating the 30 year LT anniversery in the UK. We are going to the UK in september. The goal is to put al the LT's next to each other for pictures. What a sight will that be..... :o :naughty

That's one mad little car. What a weapon! Nice job done with the donk and bolt ons. Any clues about the inlet manifold, what's it off and how was it done?
