Here is some utube footage of my Starion setting another personal best time for me of 1:04.2 around Baskerville raceway.
I went to the race track yesterday (had a day off work, so how better to spend it then on the track). I had a passenger who was timing me on an iphone app. I am working on my steering technique. It seems to be working.
Nothing on the car broke, I am finally ironing all the bugs out of the car.

Yep, nice footage and great to see. And how exactly do you get a track to yourself...

Nice slide @2:20 and foul language after the first lap LOL

JA83, pm me your phone number, I have an open diff under my house. My Starion is red. I wont be able to make it on the 12th to watch you drifting, I have a bucks party to go to.

Oldfart, I have been working on the both hands on the wheel, Im still not perfect, but I am a second quicker following your advice. More practice and someone to compete with on the track, I should get 1:03

Aslpos, I turned up to the track on Monday when every one else was at work. Its a pritty quiet track anyway, paid my $65 and away I go.

You should try to keep your hands above the halfway mark on the wheel. Control holding the lower half is about 65% of holding the upper half as you're using different (less exercised) muscles in your arm and you can be prone to small movements that you aren't really aware of causing twitchiness.

Also, maybe the audio's a bit average but sounds like you're not putting your foot into it leading into the 2nd corner after the straight (like you lifted off way too early). Were you starting to get brake fade or just not confident in it yet or?

Well done btw :)

Well done Avandull. Good to see someone who does something (rather than just pick fault at others) getting in a enjoying the fruits of their labours. :beer

Pay no attention to "Mr I know everything" above and drive to your natural instinct and if you do seek advice or tuition go to properly trained driving instructors rather than some self annointed know it all. Yes I am talking about you enteran. :glare:

I will have to get my backside down to Tassie one day. I have always had a liking for Baskerville and we could have a run together - just for the hell of it. It seems a lot like Oran Park in layout and undulation - a real fun challenging circuit.

Wantsom, let me know next time you goto wakefield or winton. I'd love to come watch mate, or race with you.

Just FYI, I race, just not currently as I'm still rebuilding the track car.

Luv your work Avandull, and it looks like your TC has got some poke too.

When you've got a passenger in the car, there's only one way to know if your going reasonably hard, and that's when you can hear their screams over everything else that's going on rofl

Keep up the great work & practice, practice, practice.
