Another GSR-V in Oz!

Post by JDSTAZ45 »

OK, I've been trying to encourage more of these cars to the Southern Hemisphere, in particular the recent white one
that sold on Yahoo for 184,000yen. About $2k!! plus shipping etc.
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w43780423

The reason I personally didn't bring that one in is because I had just recently purchased a red 1987 GSR-V :D :D :D

Features of the car include the 3x2 12V Dash engine, 88,000km's, 5 stud wheels, LSD (big or small?? not sure atm),
climate control and ABS!! And of course, a complementary set of burgandy 'Starion' mats :-)

No pics atm but here's a link to when it was in Japan.

http://photos.yahoo.co.jp/ph/m1k117/lst ... hoo.co.jp/

The body is not great as you would expect with a fading 22 year old red car. But checking over it to today, I was relieved it had no rust on the underside of doors, guards and no apparent rust underneath. Just some surface rust... overall the body was straight and alignment was very good.

I gave the car a little test drive and it went fairly well. It came on boost nicely and steering and handling was great.
Better than the widies!! All gauges work and gearbox was impressive. A little shudder when revved with clutch down,
which I will need to look into....

Car is now stored and probably wont be registered for a while unless someone is willing to take it off my hands....
$6K for the privilege!! If I keep it, I will have it resprayed 2pack in the original red and put some refurbished 16x7
widey wheels all round. Just need 1 more wheel!!

Realistically, but one out of the 3 need to go!

$6K for the GSR-V
$11K for the auto widey
$??? special neg. on the manual widey

That's nice....but this is a GSR-V post. Similar to your '87 EX, but with a Dash powered 12V engine!

I managed to crop some pics of it when the car was in Japan....

I went to check out the GSR-V in storage the other day and I look forward to sprucing it up!

On close examination, the rust situation is very good. Just a little on the bottom of the front guards, the rest is surface rust and poor paint fade!!
I can't believe no-one has snapped this up. Much better than a JD and with a nice black interior. Ah, those seats...very nice!

Looks unreal Mal, you have a VERY VERY understanding wife my friend.
My JA will be a GSR-V without the dash ! when I have finished. Im painting up a JB bonnet for it, am getting the redzone front spoiler back off Steve and today I pulled the JB vents off and will be repainting those along with putting the JD rear spoiler on. Should look amazing when its finished !!!

u gonna get it buffed mal? paint just looks oxidised, as long as it hasnt been buffed to death it'd come up like a new car....

The drivers side and roof can be buffed out, however the passenger side has quite a few blemishes. Wheel arches and underside completely rust free :)

There's nothing more pleasing when you get a full respray on a starion and because they are relatively straight forward, $2000 should get you a full two-pac job!!

This is a one owner car in Japan, so its pleasing to see everything is in tact!

I'm pleased with my purchase!

^^^^ Thanks for the offer Daz!

That looks good, with a good buff it will come up unreal. My red ja was probably more faded then that and it came up pretty good ( considering I haven't buffed before, probably gotta get a pro to re do it but lol)

P.s. I'm jealous!!!!
