Quick update with some wheels.

I bought a set of wheels while I slowly restore two other sets of wheels (see last pic of "Garage Chaos")

REAR 17x9 +15, 255/40/17
FRONT 17x8 +15, 235/45/17 (needs to be dropped down to a 225/45/17 as there is less than 1mm gap to the spring seat.

Pretty happy with the fitment actually. Just need to lower it 30 to 40mm and roll the guards.

TOO CLOSE - Need to go to 225/45/17 or run a 5mm spacer.

I have a problem with wheels. (But a good problem) :D

Looks good Tomsun, looks like we have the same wheel disease. Is that meant to read 255 on the rears and 235 on the front?

Looks great man!
You still got plenty of clearance between the rear tyre and the strut?

Got about 10mm gap on the rears. That's the gap between the tyre and spring perch. If the diameter was bigger it might touch.

Front as now 225/45/17 and there is about a 5mm gap. Note the tread width of these particular 225's are as wide as ther 235's it's the reduction in overall diameter that has helped.

Planning on putting in a set of lowered king springs this weekend. (Planning is the key word). That should drop it 40mm from standard but I have a feeling my old factory springs are sagged by that about or more, so I might actually be raising it.

I found these axis wheels in 17x8 +15 and 17x9 +20 when looking for wheels. I wasn't sure that the front's would fit against the strut at all without a spacer, which I wanted to avoid.
I would have run 215/45's on the front for clearance and a little sidewall stretch.

In the end I went with Rota rbr's in 16x8 +10 front and rear (charcoal centre/polished lip) after seeing that "bender" runs this same wheel size and offset on his blue machine. I have trial fitted my rim only to the front and strut clearance still seems very tight with +10, but looking at your photo's I now hope I don't have a problem with guard lip clearance when lowered, I will use a 225/50 tyre

Calculating wheel offset and buying rims without test fitment nearly did my head in, thanks for posting these pics I'm sure they will help others.

those axis wheels would probably fit with stretched tyres fine, kit runs a 18X8.5 +12 on the front and it clears the strut just. so a +15 8 should just clear aswell. might put anthony onto these, where can you buy these wheels? are they only available online from the states?

I could only find them mail order from the USA, but I'm sure there is an axis distributor in Oz, they may be able to special order.

How do you go turning and rubbing on the back of the inner guard? My 225/16's rub a little when doing spirited u-turns.
