US spec mirrors? do they make everything seem closer/ farther away?

that's still ok eh? some of the new nissans have mirrors that make everything seem further away.. so when you're overtaking.. someone might be almost next to your car and it'll look like they're 3 cars length behind :S dangerous..MR Bender wrote:Thrash :yer they make everything seem closer than they are!

This may depend on the year.thrash wrote:US spec mirrors? do they make everything seem closer/ farther away?
My US one is an 84 and I'm pretty sure it is only the left side that is distorted.
Mine have also dropped somehow and can't be adjusted to show much other than the road about 10 feet behind me, this may be a common problem and something to look out for,
if anybody knows how to fix it please let me know.
If at first you don't succeed, maybe skydiving just wasn't your sport!
this would be for the same reason the speedo reads higher than actual speed.. to stroke your ego and make you feel like you're leaving others behind :PEntaran wrote:Current model WRX's do this ^^

Did you mean your car or yourself? LOL I reckon the latter...Vulpes wrote:Yer Im 47, mine could do with some "buffing" as well.enthuzed wrote:Need to give that body a buffing!
Incidentally GSR-III mirrors look the same externally as JA starion mirrors but the glass in them is actually convex as well. Waaay before it's time and was initially disconcerting, so much so that I nearly swapped them with JA ones. I'm used to them now and do additional checks before swapping lanes to be sure.
